Draft Day is here
As expected the Green Bay Packers have drafted A.J. Hawk with the fifth pick in the first round. In the second round after some extensive trading Green Bay ends up with Daryn Colledge, OT from Boise State. Im not sure I like this pick because we need guards and he looks to be mainly a tackle. This might mean Mark Tauscher will be moved to guard and then you have Kevin Barry and Colledge to man right tackle. The Packers then selected a wide receiver with their second pick in the second round. Greg Jennings of Western Michigan. This might not be a bad pick although I would have loved the Packers to keep the 36th pick and select Chad Jackson from Florida. As expected Javon Walker was traded to Denver today and this is what gave us multiple picks in the second round and then from another trade with Atlanta, multiple picks in the third round as well. I dont like a tackle being taken unless the plan is to move Tauscher inside. You already have Klemm and Barry as two highly paid backups at that position. Next up is the third round, lets see if Ted Thompson can do as well as Ron Wolf in this round. Wolf picked up Edgar Bennett, Robert Brooks, William Henderson and Antonio Freeman in this round and these players helped them win a Super Bowl! If we hit on at least half of these mid round players Green Bay could be back as a Super Bowl contender. PMAN
